Greenport Fire Department
The Greenport Fire Department is located in Columbia County, in the state of New York. The Greenport Fire Department is made up of all volunteers with about 95 active members, protecting a 30 square mile area and responding to about 300 calls a year. The Greenport Fire District has three fire houses. Station # 1 covers Mid- town. Station # 2 covers the southern end of town and Station # 3 covers the Northern end of town. When there is a confirmed working structure fire, all stations respond. Otherwise, our station protocols state what we respond to and with what equipment, such as CO detectors, fire alarm activations and AAPI's. To see the plan we have for calls, scroll down to "Response Protocols" . The Greenport Fire Department also has Explorer Post and Fire Police. The Explorers also have a lieutenant at each station. The Fire Police also have line officers. When we get a serious call ,we all work as a department to protect the town of Greenport -that’s why the Greenport Fire Department is the best fire department in Columbia County.

Almighty God, Protector of all Mankind, Your strength, power and wisdom are a beacon of light to all men:
Give special regard to our fallen comrades, who gave so much of themselves in service to the community.
Help us with your loving care, to continue on in their memory.
Give us the courage, the alertness to protect our neighbors, family and all whom we have pledged to protect.
Amen
